Book Recommendation: We're Going to Need More Wine

My favorite TV show is Being Mary Jane and although it is ending this year *sad face* I have grown to admire Gabrielle Union. She has always been on my very long list of black women actresses I love, but it wasn't until I started watching the show that I began to really follow her career. I was so excited when this book came out because I knew that anything written by Gabrielle Union would be good, but I did not know it would be this good. The book isn't an autobiography or purely humoralthough I found myself truly laughing out loud for a lot of itbut that's what I like about it. I think the way the book is written is really unique. It's a collection of "stories" as Union notes on the front cover. There are overarching themes throughout the book, but it is framed more like a good conversation between friends. You know, the ones that go from topic to topic, serious to funny to sad, some stories with little detail and some with tons of detail. I personally have not read a book like this before and I thoroughly enjoyed it. The stories really get to the core of what it's like to be human and the ups and downs that come with life. I would love if she writes another book like this one, but I will be completely content reading this one over and over again. It's definitely one to buy and keep in your library.
